The5ers High Stakes rules, explained with real numbers

RB Trading Last checked: 8 October 2026 4 min read

The5ers' High Stakes is a two-step challenge: 10% in Step 1, 5% in Step 2, a 5% maximum daily loss and a 10% maximum loss, with no time limit. The rule most traders miss is the day count. You need 3 profitable days in each step, and a day only counts if your closed positions make at least 0.5% of the initial balance.

The5ers also runs Growth, Bootcamp and futures programmes with very different numbers. This page covers High Stakes.

What counts as a profitable day

The5ers measures a day's profit as the lower of your midnight balance and midnight equity, minus the previous day's balance. That figure must be at least 0.5% of the initial balance, from closed positions.

Worked example: $100,000 High Stakes

A profitable day needs at least $500. Your daily loss room is $5,000 and your maximum loss is $10,000.

DayClosed P&LCounts?
Monday+$1,200Yes
Tuesday+$300No, under $500
Wednesday+$4,100Yes
Thursday+$600, with a $900 loser still open at midnightNo, equity is lower than balance
Friday+$700Yes

That week made $6,900 of closed profit but only three days counted. A trader risking 1% ($1,000) per trade can hit the target fast and still be stuck waiting for a third qualifying day. Plan small, clean green days rather than one big one.

What we could not verify

The High Stakes pages we read state the 5% and 10% figures but not whether the daily loss is measured from balance, equity or the higher of the two, the exact reset time, or whether the 10% maximum is static or trailing. A separate The5ers "2-Step Plan" uses 3% of the previous day's closing balance or equity, whichever is higher, but that is a different product. For High Stakes, check the firm's current rules in your dashboard before you size a trade off these numbers.

Funded accounts can withdraw every 14 days. Payouts are capped per request: $3,000 on a $50K account (minimum $300 of profit) and $4,000 on a $100K account (minimum $500). Each further 10% gain scales the account, up to $500,000. The5ers refunds 70% of the fee at the funded stage.

How traders stall at The5ers

Passing the target in two days

You can hit 10% and still not pass. Without a third profitable day of 0.5% you are stuck trading a nearly finished account, which is where many traders over-trade and give it back.

Open losers at midnight

A day's profit uses the lower of balance and equity. A floating loser at midnight can turn a green day into one that does not count.

Clicking around the news

A stop moved or an order placed inside the 2-minute window counts as executing. Profit from it is removed.

Building three qualifying days on purpose

Most High Stakes traders reach the profit target before they have three profitable days. The fix is to plan the days, not just the profit. On a $100,000 account, a qualifying day is $500 of closed profit. One 1R winner at 0.5% risk does not get you there; one 2R winner does.

A simple structure: risk 0.5% ($500) per trade, take a maximum of three trades a day, and stop for the day once you have closed $500 or more. That builds qualifying days steadily, keeps losing days to $1,500 at worst, and stops one hot session from carrying the whole target.

In Step 2 the target is only 5%, so three qualifying days of $1,000 or more nearly pass it. Treat Step 2 as a consistency exercise rather than a race.

The consistency rule check: best day as a share of total profit, and what it takes to unlock the payout (demo account).
  1. In Risk Manager, add a prop account, choose The5ers, High Stakes Challenge, and your size.
  2. Sync MT5 trades through the RBSync EA so the tracker sees daily closed P&L.
  3. Check your calendar view each evening: any day under 0.5% closed profit does not count toward your 3.
  4. Read Daily room left before each trade, and confirm the reset basis in your The5ers dashboard.
  5. Log each payout against the per-request cap so you know when to request.

Setup steps are on our The5ers journal page.
