Broker symbol guide

NAS100, US100, USTEC
is your Nasdaq cash or futures?

NAS100, US100, USTEC, USTECH, NDX100 and NDQ100 are all the Nasdaq 100. At most brokers the plain name is a cash CFD that tracks the Nasdaq 100 index, not the NQ future. Futures-priced versions are labelled, for example NAS100-F or a dated name like NAS100Z6.

Every spelling, grouped

Measured on broker pages, TradingView broker feeds and live MetaTrader servers. MetaTrader matches symbol names exactly, including case, so NAS100 and NAS100m are two different symbols on the platform even though they are the same market.

What the underlying market is

Every name above tracks the Nasdaq 100 index (NDX). Its exchange-traded futures are CME Group's NQ (E-mini) and MNQ (Micro). The same broker can use two names for it: Capital.com shows US100 on MT5 and NAS100 on TradingView, and Eightcap's website says NDX100 while its TradingView feed says NDQ100.

Cash or futures?

Most retail index CFDs are labelled cash: IC Markets, Eightcap, FP Markets, IG, Admirals and FTMO all label their index CFDs that way. A cash NAS100 tracks the cash index while the US market is open and moves with the NQ future when it is shut, because the cash index does not print out of hours.

NQ futures trade at a different level from the cash index, so a chart of NQ1! will not match your broker's NAS100. If your NAS100 fills look off against a futures chart, that gap is usually why.

How the RB Trading Pro Journal handles it

The RB Trading Pro Journal reads NAS100, US100, USTEC, .USTECHCash, NAS100.r and every other spelling here as the Nasdaq 100. A cash CFD is priced live at the cash Nasdaq 100 level, and outside US exchange hours that level keeps moving with the NQ future, the way your broker's CFD does. A futures CFD such as NAS100-F or a dated NAS100Z6 reads the futures price instead.

Trades arrive by hand, by file import, or live from MT4 and MT5 and cTrader, in whatever spelling your broker uses. You never rename a symbol to get a live price or a correct R.

How this page was built: spellings come from brokers' and prop firms' own help pages and notices, from the broker feeds on TradingView, and from a public dataset of 13,740 symbol names read from 241 live MetaTrader 4 and 5 servers (metatraderVPS/metatrader-broker-symbols, CC BY 4.0). A broker is named only where one of those sources shows it. Brokers rename symbols from time to time, so check your own platform's symbol list if a name here does not match.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is NAS100 cash or futures?

At most brokers NAS100 is a cash CFD: it tracks the cash Nasdaq 100 index and follows the NQ future outside US exchange hours. Futures-priced versions are marked, such as Pepperstone NAS100-F, Admirals _USNASDAQ100 or a dated name like NAS100Z6.

Is NAS100 the same as US100 and USTEC?

Yes. NAS100, US100, USTEC, USTECH, NDX100, NDQ100 and NASDAQ are all broker names for the Nasdaq 100. IC Markets and Tickmill use USTEC, Axi uses USTECH, Capital.com uses US100 on MT5 and NAS100 on TradingView.

Why does my NAS100 price differ from NQ futures?

NQ is a futures contract and trades at a different level from the cash index, while a cash NAS100 CFD tracks the index itself. Compare a cash CFD with NASDAQ:NDX, and a futures CFD with CME_MINI:NQ1!.

What is .USTECHCash?

It is RoboForex's name for its cash Nasdaq 100 CFD. The leading dot and the Cash ending are RoboForex conventions. FTMO writes the same market as US100.cash and XM as US100Cash.

What are NQ and MNQ?

They are CME Group's Nasdaq 100 futures: NQ is the E-mini and MNQ is the Micro. On TradingView the continuous contracts are CME_MINI:NQ1! and CME_MINI:MNQ1!.
