How do I export my trade history from cTrader?

In cTrader Desktop, open the History tab of Trade Watch, show the columns you need, then right-click the list and export it as CSV. Drop that file into the journal’s Import window: cTrader’s columns are matched for you, and the profit is taken from the Net column.

Export from cTrader

  1. Open your history. In cTrader Desktop, open the History tab of the Trade Watch panel. Every closed position is listed there.
  2. Choose the period. Use the fields above the list to filter it to a standard or custom period.
  3. Show the right columns. Right-click a column heading and tick the columns you want, because only visible columns are exported. Keep Symbol, Opening direction, Opening time, Closing time, Entry price, Closing price, Closing quantity, Commissions and Net.
  4. Export the list. Right-click inside the list and export it, saving it as CSV. If your version saves Excel only, open that file in Excel or Google Sheets and save it as CSV.

Import it into the journal

  1. Pick the account. Sign in to the journal and select the account these trades belong to in the sidebar. Imports go into one account, so leave the combined view first.
  2. Open Import. Click Import in the top bar. It is there on every page of the journal.
  3. Drop the file. Drag the CSV onto the upload zone, or click the zone to browse. The format is read from the file itself, so there is nothing to choose.
  4. Check the preview. It shows how many trades were found, the wins and losses and their total result. If the count looks wrong, close the window and check the export.
  5. Click Import Trades. Trades already in the journal are recognised by ticket number and by price and date, and skipped, so importing the same file again only adds what is new. If some rows match trades you typed in by hand, choose Skip duplicates only.

What the file brings in

  • Each closed position with its side, open and close time, entry and closing price, quantity and commission.
  • The profit is the Net column, the amount cTrader books for the trade, not the Gross column.
  • A cTrader history file carries no stop loss or take profit for closed trades, so add the stop to a trade when you want its R.
  • Order IDs are kept, so importing the same file again only adds trades that are new.
  • Broker spellings like GER40.cash, DE40, US30m or EURUSD.a are read as the market they track, with a live price. The broker symbol guide lists every spelling.
