Topstep moves your Max Loss Limit up behind your END-OF-DAY balance, but liquidates you the moment your INTRADAY equity touches it, unrealised P&L included. Two numbers, two clocks, and most traders only watch one. RB Trading tracks both live, plus your consistency percentage and target progress. Two clocks, and traders lose accounts by watching only one. The limit TRAILS your end-of-day closing balance, rising as that balance grows and never falling back, and it locks permanently once it reaches your starting balance. But it is BREACHED on real-time intraday equity, unrealised P&L included, so an open position can liquidate you on a day your closed balance never moved. If the threshold was breached while the trade was open the liquidation stands, even if the fill lands back above the line. On the Combine it is $2,000 on a 50K, $3,000 on a 100K and $4,500 on a 150K, and after your first payout it is set to $0 permanently. Checked September 2026.
RB Trading. Pick your Combine size and the journal tracks the Max Loss Limit as it trails your end-of-day balance, measures your live equity against it, and shows your best day as a share of total profit so the consistency rule cannot quietly move your target. $29.99/mo, first 50 trades free.
No, and this is the most misunderstood rule at Topstep. Your best day must stay at or under 50% of total profit, but exceeding it does not end the Combine, it RAISES your profit target: best day divided by 0.50 is the new total you need. So a $2,500 day on a 50K account moves your target from $3,000 to $5,000. Trading more on that same day makes it worse, because the extra profit adds to the same best day. The remaining profit has to come on other days. Best day locks at 3:10pm CT. Checked September 2026.
