Frequently asked questions

Does NinjaTrader have a built-in trading journal?

NinjaTrader 8 has a Trade Performance window, which reports results but does not journal them. There is no place to record why you took a trade, no emotion or setup tagging, and no prop firm rule tracking, so review stops at the numbers.

How do I export trades from NinjaTrader 8?

Control Center, then New, then Trade Performance. Choose your account and date range and click Generate, open the Executions tab, then right-click the grid and export to CSV. Export Executions rather than Trades, because the Trades tab aggregates fills and loses detail.

Does it track futures prop firm rules?

Yes. Set your firm and account size once and the journal tracks your trailing threshold, daily limit where the firm has one, and profit target against live equity, so you can see the room you have before you place the next trade.
